FILM LITERACY ADVISORY GROUP

FLAG - Film Education Framework for Europe

Based on the EC funded research report Screening Literacy (2012), across 32 European countries, a Working Group is established to create a common set of approaches and understandings for the appreciation of film as an art form, critical understanding, access to national heritage, world cinema and popular film as well as creative film-making skills. The intention of the Working Group is to build the Framework out of the excellent work that is happening across Europe, with the aim of ultimately benefiting young audiences and the wider European film industry.

A Youth Programme of the E.U

Apare France 2013

A Youth Programme of the E.U., supports a group of young Europeans in developing an awareness-raising campaign on the future of European coastline. Participants take part to several hands-on activities, in Italy, Greece, France and in the UK. Karpos participates as Media Expert and will animate two workshops, one in Greece (30-31 May 2013 ): “Using new technologies for an awareness-raising campaign” and one in France (18-22 September) " Documentary making".

NORTH AEGEAN NARRATIVES

Τurkey 2012

North Aegean Narratives is a cross-cultural project designed to contribute to the mutual understanding between Turkey and Greece, and to interconnect two communities at a local level through collaborative works of Turkish and Greek media artists. 16 media artists, eight from each country, have collaborated to produce 16 short creative documentaries drawing on the main theme “Rethinking Closeness and Apartness– Reconnecting with the Other Side”, and reflecting on narratives such as culture, gender, environment, religion, and tradition. We were responsible for co-designing the creative documentary workshop for the 16 artists.
