The use of Picture and sound in Learning environments as a powerful interactive and inclusive tool
The Course is addressed to those interested in introducing non- formal media education practices in their classrooms and acquiring hands-on experience and skills on creative media productions. This Erasmus Course was created from a need to offer participants digital tools to create narratives that promote inclusion and free expression. The methodology provides a comprehensive framework for incorporating media-making techniques into the educational environment, transforming traditional teaching into an engaging, creative, and inclusive experience.
Through a blend of theory and practical application, participants will explore how media productions can be powerful tools for inclusive learning, enabling students to express themselves and develop critical digital skills. The course consists of:
- a basic introduction to key concepts of media literacy, equipment and effective digital tools for media production;
- a project-based hands-on advanced workshop focused on expression and inclusion
Objectives -Learning Outcomes:
- Co-design, co-create media content
- Develop media making competences in dealing with a variety of film genres and themes
- Understand key concepts of media literacy regarding audio and visual expression
- Design of media literacy experiences based on documentary concepts
- Arts infused storytelling techniques;
- Understand the workflow of a media production in low budget levels.
- Understand and test basic editing in free or very low budget software.

- Members of organisations offering adult education & other non-governmental organization staff,
- public servants, and policymakers.

Fee: 480 euros
5 day training course - 30 hours.
The cost includes coffee break & supportive learning material. Also 2 outdoor shooting sessions & a tour is included.
The course is eligible for the Erasmus+ KA1 funding.

Course Information
- Participants who attend at least 80% of the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance on the last day.
- Classes are scheduled either in the morning or in the afternoon, and the programme schedule may slightly vary from the preliminary one.
Required Competences:
- Knowledge of English language
- A passion for creativity and a willingness to explore new teaching methodologies
Programme
DAY 1
Welcome, getting to know each other, through group, drama and digital device games.Introduction to storytelling through short films. Visit to: unique views of the historical centre. Location based photography practice.
DAY 2
Introduction to equipment, technologies, platforms and tools for digital media making.Field trip and sound recording. Brainstorming and drafting of themes and styles in groups.
DAY 3
Research and draft shooting. Exporting and saving rushes. Taxonomy and selection process.Discussion about story, representation, style and possible applications with groups. Planning for the final shoot.
DAY 4
Basics of editing, testing and applying to the material collected.DAY 5
Finalising editing.Methodological issues of production with and without groups. Departure.
